# Clean energy

Australia is moving towards a cleaner energy future, where more of our electricity comes from renewable sources like solar, wind, and other low-emission technologies. However, there are many challenges to tackle along the way—especially in Victoria, which aims to lead the country in clean energy adoption.

Victoria will aim to achieve:

• 50 per cent renewable electricity generation by 2030, with an intention to increase this to 65%.

• Stated ambition to legislate for 95% renewable electricity generation by 2035.

• At least 6.3 GW of energy storage by 2035.

• By mid-2030s, electric vehicle use to increase by more than 1600%
